Who can submit an abstract?
Anyone is welcome to submit an abstract.
You do not need to be a at a certain stage of your career or a member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health to submit an abstract.
How do I submit an abstract?
All abstracts must be submitted through Oxford Abstracts, our online abstract submission portal.
Abstracts cannot be submitted via email or post.
Can I submit more than one abstract?
Yes, there is no limit on the number of abstracts that can be submitted.
Do I have to pay to submit an abstract?
There is no fee for submitting an abstract.
However, if your abstract is accepted, the presenting author will be required to attend the conference and pay the relevant registration fee.
If your abstract is selected for an oral presentation, you must attend the conference in-person. If selected for a poster presentation, you can choose to attend in-person or virtually.
What is the format for abstract submissions?
The following format is required for all abstract submissions:
Are there any restrictions on the abstracts that can be presented?
All abstracts must be original empirical research or patient and public involvement and engagement activity.
All abstracts that relate to technology for paediatrics and child health can be submitted. However, we request that you select the most appropriate topic category when submit your abstract.

What is the guidance for authorship?
The first author has responsibility for the content of the abstract on behalf of all co-authors.
The submitting author must be listed as an author of the abstract.
The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that each author has legitimately contributed to the work and guaranteeing the final version of the abstract.
Should your submission be successful, at least one author must register for the conference and present the abstract.
There is no maximum number of authors.
Can I make changes to my abstract once submitted?
No, unfortunately changes cannot be made once you have submitted your abstract.
What type of presentations are available?
The conference will include both oral and poster presentations.
Detailed guidance will be circulated to successful abstract presenters.
Can I request that my submission is considered for an oral or poster presentation only?
Unfortunately not. All abstract submissions go through the same double-blind review and scoring process.
The top scoring abstracts will be invited to give an oral presentation. The next highest scoring abstracts will be invited to present a poster.
How are abstracts reviewed and scored?
All abstract submissions are scored by two independent, blinded reviewers. This means that no personal information, such as author names or organisation details, will be visible to reviewers. Please ensure that no identifying features are included in the title or text of the abstract to ensure anonymity.
The average score of the two reviewers is calculated, and scores are ranked from highest to lowest. The abstracts with the highest scores will be invited to give an oral presentations. The next highest scoring abstracts will be invited to present a poster.
Will I receive individual feedback on my abstract?
Unfortunately not due to number of abstract submissions received.
Can I withdraw an abstract?
