Upcoming Seminar: Opportunities, Risks, and Considerations of ChatGPT and Other Generative AI in Medical Research

The Genetics and Genomic Medicine Early Career Researchers (GGM ECR) Team at UCL is running a series of career development workshops and would like to invite you to attend the third instalment in the series: “Opportunities, Risks, and Considerations of ChatGPT and Other Generative AI in Medical Research”.

This workshop will explore the broad transformative impact of generative AI in a talk broadly tailored for researchers in Health and Biomedical sciences by Dr. Pranava Madhyastha, Senior Lecturer at City, University of London in the Department of Computer Science. His research aims to build intelligent systems that can communicate effectively using language and learn from human guidance to close mimic human interactions.

Among other topics, this ECR session will focus on:

  • What opportunities and risks does generative AI present for researchers?
  • What are the concerns regarding content moderation, copyright, and misinformation?
  • How can we use generative models responsibly?
  • What lessons can specialists share from hands-on experience with generative AI?
  • Which tools are available and which ones are the most adequate for research?
