The National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) awarded almost £42 million to establish 14 HealthTech Research Centres (HRCs), hosted by NHS Trusts across England.
The NIHR HealthTech Research Centre Network, hosted by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, provides strategic leadership and support for the 14 HealthTech Research Centres (HRCs) across England.
The Network brings together experts from across the HealthTech industry, to speed up the development and evaluation of new medical devices, digital health tools, and diagnostics, helping these innovations reach the NHS sooner.
The 14 NIHR HRCs were launched on 01 April 2024 and replace the previous 11 NIHR MedTech and In Vitro Diagnostic Co-operatives (MICs), which came to an end in March 2024.
