New Children & Young People’s HealthTech Accelerator

Thursday 26 September 2024

As part of the new National Centre for Child Health Technology based in the Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park, a new Children & Young People’s HealthTech Accelerator will provide the opportunity to deliver ground-breaking paediatric medical technologies.

The National Centre for Child Health Technology (NCCHT) will be a pioneering hub for paediatric medical technology development and innovation. The centre will provide a space for clinicians, academics, industry, and importantly children and families, to come together under one roof to create digital tools and health technologies at every stage of the innovation pipeline.

The NCCHT will provide a wide range of services, from cutting-edge clinical spaces, engineering suites, robotics labs, networking and event spaces, and more. One of the key initiatives from the centre is the Children & Young People’s HealthTech Accelerator. A collaborative partnership between UP Ventures and Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust will deliver a 12-week accelerator programme on behalf of the NCCHT, driving market adoption of new health technologies from early stage companies and fast-tracking them throughout the NHS and into international markets.

About the accelerator programme

The Children & Young People’s HealthTech Accelerator Programme will support start-ups and small businesses and help them demonstrate their potential to add value to the NHS and beyond. Successful applicants will be able to access world-leading expertise and support through this carefully tailored programme, devised by UP Ventures. They will have the opportunity to connect with NHS leaders and engaged decision-makers from related fields, industry partners, and investors.
