Digibete Impact Report 2024
Friday 28 February 2025
This report summarises the excellent progress that can be achieved in the digital space by highly motivated and innovative organisations working in partnership with the NHS and the national diabetes charities.
DigiBete’s impact and reach within the Children, Young People and Families with Type 1 Diabetes, digital self-management support space, over the last 5 years in particular, has been notable and recent collaborations with Breakthrough T1D and Diabetes UK for projects such as the development of the ‘Diabetes Training Platform for Schools’ and the Psychology Support Platform ‘Coping with Diabetes’, have had really significant usage statistics. Early statistics on the use of our resources for ‘Young People with Type 2 Diabetes’ are also encouraging.
Digibete has continued to develop comprehensive, clinically approved, age-appropriate resources that have been positively evaluated using user feedback alongside both independent, real-world and health economic evaluation. The resources provide the wrap-around care, outside of the clinic, that patients and families find so valuable.
DigiBete’s ongoing commissioning by NHS England has provided a significant part of the essential funding to develop these resources which are now used by 96% of the national patient cohort in England, around 30,000 users, and by around 2,000 HCPs through their personalised DigiBete clinic portals.
