Health Innovation Oxford & Thames Valley are part of a national Health Innovation Network commissioned by NHS England and the Office for Life Sciences (OLS) and are hosted by Oxford University Hospitals (OUH). They find, develop, and support adoption of evidence-based innovations to address unmet health needs and tackle the NHS’s biggest challenges.
The NHS has a legal duty to reach net zero by 2045 – and this affects every supplier. That includes digital health, medtech and diagnostic solutions. If you’re an innovator, showing how your product supports NHS net zero goals can give you a competitive edge, especially during procurement.
Health Innovation Oxford & Thames Valley have developed a guide, “Build a stronger case for your innovation with the NHS” that is designed for:
- Innovators developing digital therapeutics, medtech or diagnostics
- Start-ups and SMEs selling into the NHS
- Anyone preparing for NHS procurement or funding bids
It covers topics such as what net zero means in the NHS and why it matters for your business, how NHS procurement is changing, and how to get started with your own net zero plan.
This guide was last updated September 2025.
