SBRI Healthcare Funding Awarded to Tiny Medical Apps for the Digital Health Passport for Epilepsy

Thursday 06 February 2025

We are pleased to share that one of our wonderful collaborators, Tiny Medical Apps, has been awarded £799,725 of funding from SBRI Healthcare to support the development of the Digital Health Passport for Epilepsy.

This funding is part of a £3 million initiative to accelerate innovations that improve the health and wellbeing of children and young people living with long-term conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and epilepsy.

A partnership between SBRI Healthcare, the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) and the Health Innovation Network is supporting 4 projects in a second phase of funding, following an initial 6 month Phase 1 evaluation. This scheme will enable further development and refinement of each innovation over the next year and take the next step towards implementation within the NHS.

How the Digital Health Passport supports young people with epilepsy

The Digital Health Passport (DHP) for Epilepsy supports young people in the management of their healthcare on a day-to-day basis. The DHP platform has features that help with:

  • Medication management
  • Seizure tracking
  • Wellbeing support
  • Accessibility
  • NHS system integration

We are delighted to work alongside Tiny Medical Apps and strongly support their vision of developing digital solutions that help young people manage long-term health conditions. We are proud that our work with this brilliant organisation continues to place the voices of young people right at the centre of everything we do. The DHP for Epilepsy has been meaningfully co-designed with Young Epilepsy to ensure that it truly meets the needs of the children, young people, and caregivers that will use it.
