Upcoming Webinar Series: IP guidance for the NHS

As part of the launch of the new IP guidance, DHSC and NHSE are hosting a series of webinars designed to help the system gain a deeper understanding of the guidance and its objectives, as well as to provide opportunities for Q&A.
DHSC and NHS England are working with Medipex to develop the new intellectual property guidance for its first update since 2002. This webinar series is designed to help the system gain a deeper understanding of the guidance and its objectives, as well as to provide opportunities for Q&A.
Who is this for?
This webinar series will include separate sessions for:
- Organisations providing or commissioning NHS services:
I.e. those responsible for the management of IP within an organisation providing or commissioning NHS services (e.g., commercial, research, innovation, finance teams, and senior managers and executive teams). These organisations include, but are not limited to, NHS trusts, ICBs, primary care and community care organisations. In cases where the ownership of IP is unclear, this webinar is directed at executive teams within organisations. - Innovators:
Clinical and non-clinical innovators currently working in the NHS, innovators who are looking to, or are interested in, getting their innovations into the NHS, and patient entrepreneurs.
Content
Each webinar will include:
- An introduction to intellectual property as set out in the new guidance.
- A walk through of the guidance: what it looks like, who it applies to, and the good practice principles.
- What the guidance means for the specific target audience in attendance.
- Case studies of real-world examples of IP management:
- For organisations providing/commissioning NHS services, these case studies will explore examples of IP management in their own organisations and will include practical approaches, challenges and solutions to help apply good practice principles.
- For innovators, these case studies will provide examples of navigating IP management within the NHS.
